1990-2005 Mazda Miata Big Brake Kit – Brackets & Hardware
One Kit – Seven Supported Rotor Sizes
For customers who already have a Wilwood Powerlite based brake kit or prefer to source their own Powerlite calipers, this kit includes all the brackets and mounting hardware to support multiple rotor types. This is a compatible upgrade kit for the Flyin’ Miata Little Big Front Brake Kit.
The Trans4mer Miata Big Brake Kit is designed for maximum flexibility allowing users to upsize or downsize overall rotor diameters without having to purchase new brackets, or entire brake kit. Using Wilwood 4-piston Powerlite calipers, the Trans4mer BBK is light weight and reliable, while offering superior cooling and stopping power without upsetting overall balance. The brackets use a set of spacers to switch between rotor sizes. Brackets and spacers are made from high strength 7075-T6 aluminum with stainless steel threaded inserts and anodized (Type II) blue. With multiple supported rotor sizes users can inexpensively change between different diameter rotors allowing for more flexibility with wheel fitment and across applications from autocross to endurance racing.
Supported rotors:
- 235mm – ’90-93 Miata – 8.1lbs
- 255mm – ’94-05 Miata – 10.4lbs
- 270mm – ’01+ Sport Miata – 12.8lbs
- 280mm – ND Miata – 12.8lbs
- 281mm – Wilwood 11″ 2pc – 9.4lbs
- *294mm – ’12-’13 Mini Cooper S – 14.1lbs
- *298mm – Wilwood 11.75″ 2pcs – 10.2lbs
*Mini S and 11.75″ rotors are outside of the recommended rotor range for the Powerlite Calipers but were added per customer request. Although this combination has been tested with no issues with performance or reliability this combination should be monitored and appropriate caution should be taken if using this large of a rotor. See notes below for additional information.

Wheel Fitment:
- 90-93 Rotors: Most wheels will require a wheel spacer of ~10mm since the caliper is so close to the hub. The spacer should be no more than 5.5″(150mm) in outside diameter. An exception is the 15×9.5″ Konig Freeform.
- 94+ Rotors: Fits most after market wheels without spacers, however will require 5mm or 10mm wheel spacers with stock 14″ wheels.
- 01 Sport Rotors: Fits most 15″+ wheels
- ND Miata Rotor: Fits most 15″+ wheels
- 11″ Wilwood Rotor: Fits most 15″+ wheels
- Mini S Rotor: Fits most 15″+ wheels
**Fits Most means that none of the applicable wheels we’ve tested had fitment issues.
Wheels tested:
- 14 x 5.5″ NA Daisy – Fits: 01 Sport, 94+, 90-93(10mm Spacer)

*Mini S and 11.75″ rotors are outside of the recommended rotor range for the Powerlite Calipers but were added per customer request. Although this combination has been tested the pad may sit near the edge of the rotor resulting in a small lip from the chamfer near the rotor edge. This lip, created by the 11.75″ rotor, can be seen in the following photo. This lip does not impact performance or reliability but will need to be removed with a file if using the same pads in another rotor combination. This combination should be monitored and appropriate caution should be taken if using this large of a rotor.
